Revolutionizing Aircraft Communication: Becker Avionics Unveils AMU6500 & BXT6500 Innovations
Two guiding principles define Becker Avionics’ culture: our unwavering commitment to providing world-class product support and understanding and addressing our customers' operational needs.
In support of these goals, Becker Avionics is proud to announce the latest capability enhancements of the AMU 6500 Digital Intercom. Bluetooth-capable headset integration allows non-pilot crew members or passengers to operate in the far reaches of larger aircraft without lengthy and cumbersome extension cords, making it virtually hands-free.
An alert tone generator with 3D capabilities allows specific alerts to be perceived as coming from a predetermined place, such as the number 1 engine failure coming from the left side versus the number 2 engine out on the right. Additionally, prerecorded messages can be programmed into the system.
These improvements join the already impressive 12 Transceiver, 21 Receiver, 3 Wide-Band Stereo Inputs, Bluetooth capability, and 9 Stereo or a mix of 12 Stereo & Mono User Interfaces. This new functionality allows a single AMU6500 control head for two operator positions through an innovative split-screen display. This feature will allow users to access up to 10 programmable buttons, independent intercom and master volume adjustments, individual VOX adjustments, and transmit selectors. This will provide valuable options for those cockpits with severely limited panel space.
With the impending requirement for ADSB in Mexico and Brazil, Becker Avionics looks forward to meeting our customers’ needs with our BXT 6500 Transponder. This fully certified ADSB out system has been installed and has STC approval on various airframes. The BXT6500 has also been installed and approved in several variations of glass cockpits produced by Honeywell, Collins, and other manufacturers.
